Phyllis Galembo

Ms. Galembo's project over the last twenty odd years has been to photograph people in costumes, rituals, masquerades, etc. As with Pieter Hugo (below), her work, points to that intersection humans always seek with the invisible by way of mask, drama, ritual.

Her work will be on view alongside that of Nick Cave (yo, SAIC in da house!) beginning May 27.
